UK charity MMBF Trust which is Matthew C. Martino’s brainchild will empower young people within the arts and aviation sectors focusing on actors, filmmakers, pilots and aviation students and due to them specialising in those two industries they will be able to reach more people and thus have a greater impact.
The MMBF (Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund) is a UK based charity that supports aspiring pilots worldwide through grants towards PPL,CPL and other pilot training courses and also supports filmmakers worldwide through training grants and bursaries, funding for first time filmmakers under 18 and provides sponsorship for film related events such as film festivals and film award ceremonies.
The aviation industry has in the past been labelled as a ‘rich kid’ industry as a reports in the past have argued that only wealthy individuals or children of the rich and famous could go on to become airline pilots but with MMBF’s aviation grants everyone gets an opportunity to become a pilot and they also not only get funding but they will get industry support and coaching which will enable them to be able to get ahead.
The film industry worldwide is blooming but at present its proving quite hard for young aspiring filmmakers to get a chance or perhaps for aspiring actors to get the opportunity to study film and thus a grant or sponsorship from MMBF Trust would go a long way to securing the future of a young person’s dream.
The MMBF has already teamed up with Colchester Film Festival to introduce the ‘Matthew Martino Rising Star Award’ which was awarded to Daisy Jacobs at 2014’s CFF. The MMBF has also been endorsed and supported by various stars including DJ King Assassin, Annette Lawless and Amber Walter.
