For many decades, Honda has been leading the automatic scooter segment in India thanks to a number of best-selling products including the Activa range of gearless scooters. However, another such similar range from the Honda is making waves in the country presently and it is named as Honda Dio. There are a number of other companies which are vying for the top spot with Honda including TVS, Hero and Mahindra. Most experts are predicting that the newly launched TVS Jupiter ZX is the one who can steal the limelight away from the Honda scooters. Today, we take a look at both the scooters side-by-side and compare how they stack upto each other.
Engine
Despite having a smaller engine at 109.2cc, the Honda Dio fares much better than the 109.7cc engine on the Jupiter ZX in terms of performance and power delivery. The Honda Dio is able to extract a maximum power of 8 BHP from the air-cooled engine at 7000 rpm whereas the Jupiter ZX only manages 7.9 BHP at 7500 rpm. In terms of the peak torque achieved at 5500 rpm, Honda Dio beats the competition from the Jupiter ZX with a torque of 8.7 Nm in comparison to 8 Nm on the ZX. The Dio provides you with the option to kick or self-start the automatic scooter whereas the ZX provides you with an electric or kick option.

Fuel Consumption
Even though the Honda Dio has a larger fuel tank with a capacity of 5.3L against the 5L fuel tank capacity on the Jupiter ZX, the mileage provided by the Dio at 55kmpl pales in comparison to the 62kmpl mileage on the ZX. Both the automatic scooters also have a 1L reserve fuel capacity in addition to the regular fuel tank.

Wheels and Tires
The Honda Dio uses a smaller 10-in sheet metal tires to provide the support to the scooter whereas the TVS Jupiter ZX features 12-inches Alloy wheels on both ends. The ZX uses 90/90-12 Tubeless tires on the front as well as the rear against the pair of 90/100-10 tubeless tires on the Honda Dio.

Chassis and Suspension
The chassis types on both the gearless scooters are made out of under bone type but the ones used on the Jupiter ZX are more rigid in comparison to the same on the Dio. Also, the ZX is equipped with an Advanced telescopic shock absorber at the front side whereas the rear side is only equipped with a gas charged mono shocker. On the other hand, the Dio comes with a spring loaded hydraulic shock absorber.

Brakes
There is not much to choose between the braking systems on the Honda Dio and the TVS Jupiter ZX. Both of them use 130mm drum brakes to provide safety and comfort to the scooters.

The on-road Honda Dio price is marked at Rs 51,892 which is about 3500 INR lower than the TVS Jupiter ZX which is priced at Rs 55,355 on-road.

The TVS Jupiter ZX and the Honda Dio are ruling the charts in the country in terms of the best automatic scooters in the 110cc two-wheeler segment. Despite the higher price tag of the Jupiter ZX against the Honda Dio price, The ZX provides you with better features than the Dio. The Jupiter ZX easily defeats the Honda Dio in every department except the engine performance where the Dio just manages to pip the Jupiter ZX by the smallest margin possible.
